Dr. Steven Bethka is an experienced, licensed optometrist who builds long-standing patient relationships because he is friendly, compassionate, and easy to talk to. Dr. Bethka grew up in in the wilds of Anchorage Alaska, but completed his undergraduate studies right here at Mesa State College. He did his graduate work at Pacific University and Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon. Dr. Bethka started practicing here in Grand Junction in 1988 and finds this community to be an ideal place for his family to enjoy outdoor activities. Over the years, Dr. Bethka has found that he is particularly skilled in custom and technically challenging contact lens fitting, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases.
Dr. Bethka is certified in LASIK co-management, and also specializes in screening for glaucoma and cataract surgery co-management. He is an active member of the American Optometry Association and the Colorado Optometric Association. Steve is President of the Rocky Mountain Sled Dog Club and is a Past Cubmaster of Pack 316.
